Saruman the White (The Lord of the Rings)

A powerful and sagely wizard, head of his order, Saruman was one of the wise who sought to prevent the Dark Lord Sauron’s dominion of Middle- earth. Lured by the lust for power, however, Saruman became one of the principal adversaries of the Fellowship of the Ring, sending his Uruk-hai soliders against them to gain the Ring for himself.
