Plunging for an eternity to the uttermost foundations of the world, they hewed at one another; the demon’s fire engulfing the Wizard while his silver blade rang again and again. Through darkness they battled and fell, plunging into black water before emerging to fight on, ascending the Endless Stair to the very peak of Zirak-zigil, where, beneath the open heavens, fire would meet lightning and righteous light cleave shadow for the last time.
Expertly captured by Ben Wootten: artist, illustrator and former concept designer at Weta Workshop on The Lord of the Rings trilogy. Ben was one of the original Weta crew who produced much of The Lord of the Rings concept art you may have seen in art books and DVD features.
